Information and resources to support safer sleep in Early Years Settings

Baby sleeping in a cotIn partnership with The Lullaby Trust, the Department for Education have published guidance to support settings to provide babies and children with a safer sleep environment:  Early Years and Providers Guidance

This guidance supports planned updates to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, which should be made in September 2026.

SIDS and safer sleep for babies training

The Lullaby Trust offer in-depth training designed for professionals and practitioners. This online course will deepen your understanding of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and equip you with the tools to confidently share The Lullaby Trust’s evidence-based safer sleep guidance in your everyday practice.

The course features informative video presentations, supported by additional reading materials and publications to reinforce key learning points. You’ll gain a clear understanding of  safer sleep advice to help support families in reducing known risks.
