North Somerset Childhood Safety Equipment Fitting Scheme
The safety equipment fitting scheme, funded by North Somerset Council, enables agencies to refer families with a high risk of a childhood injury occurring, to an organisation who will visit the family to fit safety equipment. Walking to School
You may have parents question when children can safely walk to school alone.
In the UK, there isn’t a minimum legal age to walk to school alone. The age a child will be ready depends on many things such as environment, distance to school, and their confidence and maturity levels.

Safer Journeys by Car
For families who drive to school, the journey is another opportunity to build safer habits. Backseat Boss resources are designed to help children speak up about safer driving and encourage parents and carers to make safer choices behind the wheel.
