Our FREE Oral Health Promotion Workshops for frontline teams are a popular CPD for staff across sectors.
From Early Years Practitioners to Stop Smoking Support Workers, School Nurses to Care Home Managers, Childminders to Teachers – over 200 professionals have been trained by our team in the last year.
Training for Everyone
We run regular training events online and will come to your staff meetings (within North Somerset) to run workshops adapted for your team’s needs. So whatever your service or setting, if you’d like to increase staff knowledge of oral health, get in touch using the contact form on this page.
If you work with children and cannot make it to any of the workshops scheduled here, Health Education England offers a free online course which you can work through at a time convenient to you.
Children’s Oral Health for All

All of our webinars are in workshop format and work best when participants come prepared to share their own experiences and questions to inform the session.
North Somerset iLearn now hosts oral health promotion training for those working in the early years and will soon launch a course for those working with 5-19 year olds. This training will equip children’s workforce practitioners with the knowledge and best tips for looking after children and young people’s teeth, to enable much needed conversations with families to help them prevent tooth decay. It covers barriers to behaviour change and the wider, social and commercial situations that prevent people from maintaining good oral health. The course covers ideas for how to pass these messages onto children, young people and parents in meaningful and engaging ways, and ways to shape your setting to better support the oral health of your staff and service users. Those who have done this course before report increased confidence when promoting oral health to children and in talking with parents about the subject.
