Did you know?
Men are three times more likely to die by suicide than women. They’re also much less likely to access talking therapies and are more likely to struggle in ways that can go unnoticed.
These statistics highlight a serious and ongoing challenge. Traditional expectations around masculinity can make it harder for men to open up about how they’re feeling, ask for help, or even recognise when they’re struggling. As a result, many men may reach crisis point without ever connecting with support services.
That’s why it’s so important to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and create spaces where men feel comfortable having honest conversations about their mental health.
North Somerset takes male mental health seriously, find out below about organisations that support male health. Some are specifically for men and some support men with their health and wellbeing.
