Living with persistent pain can often feel very lonely, which can lead to poorer mental and physical health due to isolation.

Support ranges from clinical psychological interventions to community-based emotional wellbeing services and peer-led support.

Integrated mental health teams (MINT)

A MINT team is a mental health hub that brings together diverse expertise from various mental health professionals, including those from the voluntary sector, in the local area.

These teams are designed to provide comprehensive support for adults facing a variety of mental health challenges, ensuring that every individual receives the care they need to thrive.

One of the core principles of a MINT team is to offer personalised care plans. Everyone who seeks help will receive a tailored plan that addresses their unique needs, preferences, and circumstances. This approach ensures that care is not only effective but also respectful of each person’s journey and aspirations.

By signposting individuals to further support when needed, a MINT team ensures a continuum of care beyond immediate treatment, fostering long-term wellbeing and recovery.
