If you are you a local exercise or physical activity instructor working with older adults in North Somerset there is a programme of work to identify those who are interested in undertaking further exercise instructor training, such as OTAGO or REACT.

This work includes increasing the diversity of the instructor workforce, ensuring it better reflects the rich range of cultures and communities across North Somerset and the wider BNSSG area. Representation matters, and we want to create a workforce that feels accessible, relatable, and inclusive for all older adults we support.

This is a fantastic opportunity for professional development, especially for those passionate about supporting older adults and contributing to preventative public health work and specifically falls prevention.

Ask of local exercise instructors:

* If you teach older people at present please complete the short Microsoft Form to share your details or register interest in further training: 👉 Complete Form Here

A register of instructors across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire is currently being compiled.

* Please share the link with any instructors currently delivering sessions, or with individuals who are interested in becoming instructors (as Level 2 Fitness Instructor training may be available for those who need it to progress to OTAGO).

If you / others you work with would like to provide additional feedback or have questions, please contact kirsty.brown@wesport.org.uk

Details of the next OTAGO course are:
